Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced SENIOR VAT SPECIALIST for a new project for a company based in Prague.

Your daily responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate preparation, validation, and submission of all VAT returns, along with any required supporting schedules and documentation (local authorities)
  • Continuously analyze and improve VAT reporting processes, working closely with the Automation team to streamline these procedures
  • Offer proactive VAT guidance to customer centers, and other relevant departments within the VAT jurisdiction
  • Clearly communicate potential opportunities and risks associated with complex AC transactions from a VAT perspective to corporate business partners
  • Provide essential documentation during tax audits and identify significant tax risks, promptly reporting
  • Support internal VAT projects and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Deliver comprehensive VAT training sessions for PTP and AtR departments
  • Mentor junior VAT team members, fostering their professional growth and deepening their understanding of VAT principles
  • Assist in managing tax risks by flagging material concerns to the Tax Team Leader or Business Controller
  • Support internal VAT initiatives and ensure thorough documentation during tax audits.
Requirements

What you already have:

  • According to the Czech legislature, you need to have a valid work-permit providing you with access to the Czech labour market
  • fluent English (B2+/C1)
  • ideally 4 years experience in VAT accounting (min. 3 years)
  • you know perfectly international accounting concepts and tax laws
  • SSC experience is a plus
  • SAP and other ERPs are a plus
  • University degree in finance and other related fields are preferred
  • fluent Czech (B2+/C1) is preferred
  • we are looking for a team player, but also can work independently, this is a senior role!
